Difficulties Parenting

There are situations when parenting is more difficult than others. Examples of why a child might be more difficult to parent may include Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), a creative personality, a highly sensitive nature, oppositional defiant disorder, a learning disability or a mood disorder. Life can be hard for children who don't comply or fit in. They may be disfavoured by teachers, family members and other people in society which can lead to self-doubt, overt punishment or subtle rejections making parenting even more difficult. Difficulties parenting may also result from a lack of parenting skills or from situations where parents and children don't bond.
