Social Capital Survey Report 2010

About This Report:

As part of the Stronger Communities Block of the Leicestershire Local Area Agreement (LAA), the Communities and Voluntary Sector (CVS), DeMontfort University and Leicestershire County Council conducted a survey that attempted to baseline levels of social capital in 20 areas across Leicestershire. The survey was repeated in February 2009 and a number of reports will be published on this page exploring the results and findings.

N.B. In some cases the reports will be published initially in final draft format and will be marked as such.

Social capital can be described as the "glue" that holds communities together and the "resources" to help them move on. Thus the enhancement of social capital is key to developing stronger communities. The concept also has close links to community cohesion.
