Report : Indices of Deprivation 2010 - Leicestershire Headline Results

Date: Thu 7th April, 2011

Description: On 24th March 2011, Communities and Local Government (CLG) published the new English Indices of Deprivation 2010 (ID 2010). The Indices are an attempt to measure deprivation in a consistent way across England. The index is a relative measure of deprivation at a small geographic (Lower Super Output Area, LSOA) level.

The report is divided into three parts; the first provides background information on the indices, constituent parts and information at local authority level. The second analyses the indices at the small area level across Leicestershire. The third part briefly summarises change in overall deprivation for Leicestershire between the 2004, 2007 and 2010 indices.

The Research and Insight Team at Leicestershire County Council will be undertaking further analysis of the ID2010 as required. Findings will be made available on LSR Online.
