Description: National Statistics released the mid 2006 population estimate for local authorities on 22nd August 2007. Leicestershire's mid 2006 estimated population is 635,100. An Excel file giving summary details for Leicestershire and districts by sex, by 5 year age groups and by summary age groups is included in this report.

The attached spreadsheet gives a summary of the ONS mid-2006 population estimates for Leicestershire and districts by sex and by 5 year age and sex . The figures incorporate revisions to previous mid year estimates for 2002 to 2005 due to changes in the methodology for estimating international migration.
